A Day on the Edge

The Cinque Terre (pronounced cheen-kwa tear-a) are five coastal villages in the Liguria region of Italy. They have come to be among the most popular and picturesque areas of Italy. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are so precious to the residence and to Italian tourism that they have been made into a protected national park. You can visit all 5 villages by train or walking the romantic path which included 18 kilometers of trails that connects them together. We visited Vernazza and found it to be pretty and full of charm. Perfect inspiration for an artist, just check out the color and vistas in my photos. It is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, orchards and chestnut woods. There is a postcard image everywhere you look.
