Italian Swooners

Most of you know that I'm a vintage girl. This often includes my taste in music, as I was raised on my Dad's LP's which included every Beatle album and every single artist that played at Woodstock. I love to go further back as well to the 50's and early 60's swoners that made women faint at the first note of their smooth voices. They had their fair share of swooners in Italy as well which I'm having a fun time discovering. Tony Renis was one of these men. His song Quando Quando Quando is a song that every Italian knows every word to no matter how old you are. It has been covered by every famous Italian singer and even several American ones, and I have discovered that if I ever want to be be assimilated in this country, I better get to know the words as well.
Tony sings his song live in an Italian film called Appuntamento In Riviera (above poster 1962).
Listen to the song here:

Translation:

Tell me when will you be mine

Tell me quando quando quando
We can share a love devine
Please don't make me wait again

When will you say yes to me
Tell me quando quando quando
You mean happiness to me
Oh my lover tell me when

Every moments a day
Every day seems a lifetime
Let me show you the way
To a joy beyond compare

I can't wait a moment more
Tell me quando quando quando
Say its me that you adore
And then darling tell me when

Every moments a day
Every day seems a lifetime
Let me show you the way
To a joy beyond compare

I can't wait a moment more
Tell me quando quando quando
Say its me that you adore
And then darling tell me when

Whoa lover tell me when
Oh darling tell me when
Oh come on tell me when
Yea tell me when

Granny had an album by Engelbert Humperdinck singing this same song! It's quite a catchy tune, really. I think I've heard it a thousand times. At least.
